Kyle & Madison's Wedding {Manson & Lake Chelan}

A couple of months ago I first spoke with Madison about photographing her wedding to Kyle and it was one of those times where I just thought to myself, I’m going to love working with this girl! The amazing piece about Madison and Kyle’s wedding was that their ceremony would just be the two of them, me, and the officiant! I have never had a wedding quite like this one and I was so excited about having a whole day to only work with the bride and groom. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the excitement of having a whole troupe of bridal party members that I get to work with all day, as well as family and other friends, but this type of day is one that was unique because it was all about the bride and groom with no other agenda other than relaxing and enjoying a splendid day in the Chelan and Manson area, and of course getting to celebrate a new marriage!

Kyle and Madison are such genuine, delightful people to be around, their love for each other is evident in every interaction and they aren’t just in love, they are also kind to each other. I know that may sound like a non-romantic way to describe a relationship, but throughout the last couple of years I have observed that when someone is kind to you, it makes a bigger impact then when they just like you. Kyle and Madison care about each other and other people which made this day so memorable.

Since they both enjoy the outdoors, from fishing to hiking, we had to do a couple shots including their other interests and it was easy to capture them doing what they love. We spoke to local fisherman about the chinook they had just caught and wandered around a pasture with a retired race horse, all while the sun was actually shining on us all day in March! Talk about the perfect day!

One extra special piece to their day was a little excursion on a helicopter! This was a first for me and when Kyle called me to tell me that it was a surprise for MadisonI could hardly contain my excitement. This helicopter took them from their romantic cabin in the woods and getting ready location to the ceremony. Flying over one of the most scenic valleys in the state of Washington is an epic way to make the most of your day!

Roman at 10 Months {Brewster}

Today it is the 17th, in 2 days this little boy will be 11 months old, but today I'm posting his 10 month pictures.  Now at the beginning of this month Roman had a bruise on his cheek so I thought, "Well maybe I'll wait a couple days until that heals."  However, this month has been one of trips and falls, bruises and tears.  But it has also been a story of him constantly being on the move, and getting into ALL the things!  He started walking just before he turned 9 months old and it didn't take long before he was almost running around the house.

After all, he has a big brother to keep up with so it's not hard for him to want to run!  He loves food of any kind and is the best snuggly baby around. Even though he may like to move there is a good part of his day that he is perfectly content to be up in the sling while I'm prepping dinner or just snuggling up on the couch when he's tired.  He will say "mumumum" when he's mad, but his favorite phrase is "guh guh" which Kamden and I think means "Go!" since it's usually accompanied by racing cars down their track.

He has had 8 teeth for the last 4 months but he just started getting his molars this month, so that's been fun.  One of the best things that he does right now is if someone is down at his level, he will stretch out his arms and charge at you for a bear hug with the biggest grin and it's just the sweetest part of our days.

I can't believe this little bundle of love has been with us for almost a year and I'm a little in denial that his birthday is actually coming up!

Lucy Freels Newborn {Brewster}

One of the parts of my job that is probably my favorite is getting to share people’s most memorable days.  No matter if it’s a wedding day or one of a newborn’s first few outings I get to be there and I don’t take that for granted.  Getting to meet a brand new little person that is just starting to figure out the world and getting used to life is amazing.

Lucy was incredibly sweet and so content.  I love that her family wanted to keep things simple and neutral.  That idea keeps the focus on the innocence and perfect features of this little girl and there is nothing better than baby details.  Not only is Lucy one of my favorite baby names but this one is extra special because she is named after her great grandma, which just makes it even better.  We of course had to include the proud big brother,  and even if he doesn’t quite know how great it is to have a sister I’m sure he will figure that out very soon!

Gebbers Family {Brewster}

Since this winter seems to be never ending, I'm going to start showcasing some of the highlights of the fall and maybe even the summer.  This family session was only a couple minutes away from my house and I absolutely love the location that Abbie found for us.

  Being surrounded by rivers makes it possible to have water views and backgrounds in almost every possible location that I use. That is one of the unique aspects of where I live that I just can't get enough of.  Plus, we get 300 days of sun a year, which I take full advantage of.  Now most of the time that means warm sun and less grey days.  However, today is a grey, dreary looking day that is really trying to be a stereotypical Monday.  But, in exactly one week we are supposed to get to 50 degrees so I'm holding out hope that spring HAS to be on the way!

To fight all the grey, this colorful session with beautiful girls seemed to be the way to go.  Getting to put all of these fall colors together just makes me wish for summer even more.  Until then, enjoy these highlights from the session!
