Becker Family Fall Scenic Family Session {Brewster}

For two years I got to hang out with the youngest member of this family every weekday and it's safe to say we got to know each other pretty well. And because he is similar in age to Kamden and they were together all the time they became such good little buddies which continues even though we don't hang out quite as much now.

The Becker family has been through a lot this year trying to figure out some health issues and even though I'm sure it's been frustrating and even scary, they are always the sweetest, most positive family!  When Amy shared that she wanted me to document this part of their story even though doing pictures wouldn't quite be the same as other years, I was thrilled because that's exactly why I do what I do.  Years can be hard, and situations can happen that you may not want to document but my goal is always to show the victory even if it's in the middle of the struggle.  I know that one day these pictures will be a way they can share even more of their impact with the world and share how the hard things have impacted the strength of their family.

So my encouragement to the rest of you is this, don't wait.  Just because you may not be exactly the place you want to be, or maybe you're waiting because you want to reach a goal or a place where you feel like your kids don't have bumps or bruises or a million other things.  All of those things are part of your story and regardless of if you have me document that or someone else, just do it!  I know you won't regret it in 50 years!

Martinez Family Fall River Session {Brewster}

 About a year and a half ago I first met the most beautiful Raquel and some of the family pictures we did then are still my favorites.  Raquel and I have had a couple sessions together now and her reaction to me this year was very different from the past couple where she was more but a little unsure.  This time she LOVED her time in front of the camera and was all about hanging out with me, so much so that she decided she would rather be my little buddy than be in front of the camera which I didn't mind at all because relationships are always the end goal for me!  I adore this sweet family and the late fall shots with their blues and whites, those colors were just perfect!

Zack & Ashley Brownell's Rustic Idaho Wedding {Post Falls}

 This wedding story begins quite a long time ago, when I first met Zack, Mike and Lisa Brownell. We were members of the same church and since we started going there when I was only 4, I’ve known this family almost my entire life.  I may not have a lot of memories from that time but I do remember how sweet their family was!  Tragically Lisa passed away when Zack was young and I remember being at her funeral and hoping that someday I would touch as many lives as she did and knowing what an incredible person she was.

Years have passed since then and I was thrilled when Zack and Ashley asked me to be their wedding photographer.   One of the ways that the couple made sure to include Lisa was by a small angel that Lisa had made, that was attached to Ashley’s bouquet.  I love that this simple way was chosen to remember such a wonderful person and her impact that is still felt today.

From the first email I had with Ashley I knew that I would love her and that their wedding would be a special one.  Zack has a precious little girl, Scarlett, and when Ashley told me how Zack (and Scarlett) proposed, asking her to marry them, it may have been the sweetest proposal story I’ve ever heard!  Ashley has been filling the role of mama to Scarlett for awhile now and getting to see their bond was the best!  Seeing the completion of their family through their wedding was amazing and I know that there was probably a party going on in heaven too!

The couple chose an intimate ceremony at Ashley’s grandmother’s house, which was surrounded by horizons of blue mountains and open fields.  While it was the beginning of November the weather was perfect even though rain had been predicted earlier.  While talking to her grandma earlier in the day she told me that the rain usually jumped right over her property so she wasn’t worried in the least bit and she was absolutely right!
