The Simpson Family Columbia River Session {Brewster}

Every once in awhile there is a little one that wants to test my “baby whisperer” skills and for our session, Presley decided that she wanted to be super serious.  What she didn’t realize is that no matter what mood she was in I was going to make sure we captured her little personality.  While it’s always nice to get the traditional, everyone looking at the camera shot, that’s not always my style and really I end up loving the ones that are in the moment, even more than the traditional look.  This is especially great for toddlers because they rarely sit still and are much more interested in the world around them than in the stranger trying to get them to look in her direction.  My goal is always to tell the story though so whether that is the adorable way they run down the path with a stutter step because they are just getting those feet moving or if it’s trying to find the perfect rock to admire, those are what we do and in the middle there are always perfect moments.  And the longer I’m a mama the more I realize how easy it is to forget the little things so I appreciate it when there’s a way to remember those moments.  

I first met Presley and her family when they came to visit me for her newborn pictures and seeing her so much bigger and with the most adorable personality is just the best!  I loved my time with the Simpson family!  (and if you want to know my favorite picture just check out the last one, it's just the best!)

Karina's Fall Lake and Brewster Senior Session {Alta Lake and Brewster}

 If there was one word to describe these sessions, it would be colorful!  Both locations that we worked in were amazing with the light, especially on the first night in Brewster by the river.  This time of year is the best time for many reasons but the range of colors is by far my favorite.  I'm always stalking my favorite places for weeks as the leaves start to go from green to more of a lime to a yellow or whatever other color they will be so that I can pack in as many sessions as possible once this array of beauty fully hits!  I have known the beautiful Karina since she was in middle school and transferred to Brewster so it doesn't seem possible that she will be graduating in a few short months!

While we were doing her sessions I found out that she is planning to pursue dental hygiene after high school at my personal favorite, Eastern Washington University!  She will be joining quite a few of Brewster's past graduates there and I know she is going to thrive in that environment!  No matter what I asked her to do, (even accidentally asking her to walk through goat heads!)  she was willing to make her senior pictures the best possible, I loved every minute with her and am thrilled with how these turned out!!

Petersen 50th Anniversary Lake Chelan Celebration {Manson}

Being part of a family celebration is always an honor for me and this one was such a lovely day in every way. From the perfectly crafted florals that reminded me of a spring day to the gorgeous gold and pink cake that was equally amazing in both taste and presentation, every detail was thought out and beautiful.  I was able to do a lot of different family pictures for this group and even their outfits were coordinated for the celebration.  Thankfully even the weather must have known it was a special day because it originally was raining but for the dinner and pictures the rain just took a break and it was absolutely gorgeous!  50 years of being married is one of the greatest accomplishments of a lifetime and having everyone around to celebrate that was so special and I’m sure it was something that they will remember forever!  Thank you Petersen family for allowing me to capture some of these moments for you!

Torgesen Family Orchard and Lake Session {Manson}

It's no secret that I love big families and in this family was just the best!  It was basically like I was taking pictures of professional models because all of them were so easy going and enjoyable to work with!  Everything about the location matched what we were hoping for and even with planning out the session ahead of time, I never really have the control over what the weather is going to do or my visibility but this night everything just came together for perfection.  Getting to hear stories about a family is one of the highlights of any session for me and this session was especially important because of impending graduations and their oldest getting to go on mission.  This was one way that this family can remember how great it is being together and have memories forever.  I'm so thankful they chose me to document this moment in their family history!  Enjoy!
